Emerging Leaders

Emerging Leaders

Building the blocks of your personal leadership.

You're ready to make your mark in your non-profit organization. Vantage Point program, training and resources offers you tools to explore your own leadership strengths, embrace leadership opportunities and cultivate a network of support as you take the next steps in your career.

This worksheet creates a simple “so that” chain, clearly linking your strategy, with outcomes that build towards your organization's ultimate goal. Use this worksheet to begin exploring the long-term, community level impact of your work.

In this toolkit you’ll find a Volunteer Position Description template as well as two samples of Vantage Point Position Descriptions we’ve recently created for actual roles on our external talent team.

Stretch assignments can be a powerful, but often overlooked type of leadership development opportunity. They involve taking on new projects or temporary roles which are outside your normal scope of duties, and exist in all types of not-for-profit organizations.

In Vantage Point’s organizational chart, volunteer roles are fully integrated into each level, function and activity of the organization.

This integrated model of working together is both possible and powerful. All of the people work together to deliver the mission because they are passionate about the cause and clear about the contribution they make in their roles. Each person is part of a strong team, while also being clearly accountable to one specific individual.
