The Executive Lab: Creating Strong Leadership

It's a tall order, we know, but it can be done - and the Executive Lab is your first step! This seven month program is an opportunity to increase your individual ability to lead change in your organization and community. You've never had training so uniquely focused on the Executive role.

In the Executive Lab, you will gain a solid understanding of Executive responsibilities and a greater ability to demonstrate high-level personal leadership. The program curriculum focuses on the development of leadership competencies, personalized for each participant, with deeper learning facilitated outside the classroom through a one-on-one mentoring relationship with a "seasoned" Executive. If you have a basic understanding of good practice in not-for-profit management and are looking to strengthen your individual ability to lead staff, external talent, board and community partners, the Executive Lab is for you.

What will I learn?

Throughout the course you will focus on:

  • Strengthening your personal leadership competencies (for example: developing your people, strategic business sense, impact and influence, team leadership, etc.)
  • Building knowledge of good practice in key areas of not-for-profit management, including board development, people, finance, fund development and strategy
  • Gaining a solid understanding of the executive responsibilities and greater ability to demonstrate high-level of leadership competency

Additionally, you will have:

  • Developed supportive relationships and personal networks with other not-for-profit leaders

What are my responsibilities?

Along with attending the seven sessions you will:

  • Complete a personal competency assessment and establish personal learning objectives
  • Work towards your personal learning objectives with a "Seasoned" Executive mentor
  • Complete assigned tasks/activities related to the session topics and journal your experiences in between classroom sessions

The cost is $2500 per participant.  All sessions take place at the Vantage Point Offices, 1183 Melville Street, Vancouver, BC. 

The program has been developed specifically for and is open to Executive Directors, Managing Directors and CEOs.

The sessions are full days except for the first and last schedule and are on the following dates:
