Simon Canning
Simon has over 25 year's business experience in three countries in small and large firms in the travel sector. He is currently the Managing Director Global accounts, for Sabre Travel Network, where he is responsible for negotiating global technology contracts. Simon's expertise is in his leadership abilities, as well as people and negotiating skills. He has travelled in many parts of the world and is passionate about engaging positive change one person at a time. Simon's volunteer experience has been as a business mentor, soccer and rugby coach, and a board member with Vantage Point. Simon holds degrees in Biological Sciences and a Management of Technology MBA and lives in Vancouver with his wife and three children.
Chilwin Cheng
Chilwin is the founder and Principal of LPS, a legal and business advisory firm and he is the founder and President of Paradigm Shift Solutions Inc., a local technology start-up. He has served on the Board of Vantage Point for the past four years. He is the former President of the John Howard Society of the Lower Mainland and MOSAIC. He is a regular volunteer instructor with Vantage Point and Simon Fraser University, teaching courses on leadership and governance. Chilwin is politically active, having participated in civic, provincial, and federal campaigns.
Yvonne Chui
Yvonne works for the City of Port Coquitlam as the Arts & Culture Program Coordinator and manages the new Leigh Square Community Arts Village. Her previous positions include Executive Director at the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden and the Craft Council of BC. She is involved in revitalization initiatives as a community member and consultant in the Downtown Eastside and Chinatown, and has served on the Canada Volunteerism Initiative - BC Network, through Volunteer Vancouver.
Barbara Grantham
Barbara Grantham has 20 years of experience in the not-for-profit and public sectors in BC. She is currently a consultant in the not-for-profit and health sectors. Most recently, she served as Vice President, Community Leadership at Vancouver Foundation. She has held executive positions with the Canadian Mental Health Association and BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. She serves on the Board of Vancouver Public Schools Foundation and the BC Centre for Non-Profit Sustainability.
Kerry Ho
Kerry Ho is CEO of Inhance Investment Management, a socially responsible mutual fund company in Vancouver. Kerry has extensive financial experience, having held senior positions at institutions such as Mackenzie Financial and CEO of Peter Cundill and Associates. Kerry has served on the Manager’s Council of Governors with the Investment Funds Institute of Canada and was a member of the Advocacy & Policy Committee, Children’s Aid Society of Toronto. He has contributed his expertise to Vantage Point’s Finance Committee.
Janice Iverson
Janice has enjoyed a dynamic communications and community relations career in the voluntary and private sectors for more than 20 years. She is currently Assistant Vice President, Corporate Citizenship at Envision Financial and First Calgary Savings. Janice is an accredited communicator through the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), a graduate of Leadership Calgary, and past chair of Volunteer Calgary’s Board of Directors.
Susan Lovell
Susan is a chartered accountant with over 15 years of experience. She has held senior management roles in several successful hi-tech companies in Vancouver, including Stockhouse Inc. and Crystal Decisions (Business Objects). Currently, Susan is an independent financial consultant. She currently sits on Vantage Point's Financial Sustainability Committee and serves as Treasurer of our Board. Susan and her husband have a young son and daughter.
Jen Lund
Jen is a Team Coach and Facilitator and works as an Organization Development (OD) Consultant for the Provincial Health Services Authority. Her background includes over 20 years of OD consulting and Human Resource management. Jen’s passion is digging below the surface to discover the hidden bits of wisdom in a group and surfacing them through collaboration and dialogue.
Tim Veresh
Tim Veresh is the Executive Director of the John Howard Society of the Lower Mainland and Executive Officer of the John Howard Society of BC. Tim is currently involved as an advisor with the BC Association for Community Living, Douglas College Youth Criminal Justice Program, Drug Treatment Court of Vancouver, UBC Innocence Project and the Community Social Services Employers’ Association. In addition to volunteering with Vantage Point, he is also on the Board of Directors of The Provincial Association of Community and Residential Agencies (PARCA) and the British Columbia Yukon Halfway House Association (BCYHHA).
Jim Williams
Jim directs the Information Services group for A&W Food Services. He is the founding member and past President of the Chief Information Officer Association of Vancouver. He is also a founding Board member of the CIO Association of Canada. Jim has participated in a number of business advisory councils on technology related issues. In addition, he has volunteered his time coaching community soccer and basketball and organizing school fundraisers.
