
The President of Octopus Strategies, Mike Rowlands hosted this invigorating and lively session, held on March 31, 2010. Mike works with organizations around the world to develop authentic, value-driven and inspiring brands. He introduced participants to the AWID branding model, as well as the four factors that are essential to enduring brands: authenticity, value, inspiration and distinction. Attendees gained a solid, foundational understanding of branding and its value in the not-for-profit sector, and key insights they could immediately apply to enhance both their careers and their organization's success.

About Mike Rowlands
Mike Rowlands is an accomplished business strategist, entrepreneur and not-for-profit leader. He has worked with organizations around the world to craft distinctive strategies and deliver award-winning marketing.
Mike speaks frequently to a variety of audiences, and has lectured for MBA candidates at UBC's Sauder School of Business. He has also been recognized by the Vancouver Board of Trade as a nominee for 'Mentor of the Year', and by his peers as a nominee for Business In Vancouver magazine's '40 under 40'.
Mike is a Past-President of the BC Epilepsy Society, and currently serves as a mentor in DigiBC's Digital Springboard Program. During his career, Mike has worked and volunteered with a diverse range of clients, including K2 Snowboarding, CARE Canada, the Australian Trade Commission, and many not-for-profit organizations and startup ventures.
