Find and Successfully Work with a Mentor

Human resources and mentoring expert Lewisa Anciano led this engaging and interactive NLN session on January 21, 2010.  Lewisa shared her personal experience and lessons learned as a mentor and mentee, and introduced the concept of mentoring as a long-term strategy for career development.  Participants discussed the 'ins' and 'out' of mentoring, and obtained concrete strategies to identify, sucessfully engage, and maintain a mentor.

About Lewisa Anciano

Lewisa Anciano is an energetic and passionate facilitator with a wealth of experience as both a mentor and mentee.  She has developed a formal mentoring model and toolkit, featured at her company KickstartHR, and is currently Vice President of Human Resources with an award-winning technology company.  She also has strong professional credentials, including a Bachelor of Business Administration and Masters of Arts in Organizational Management. 

Lewisa serves on the Board of Directors of the BC Human Resources Management Association. She has taught Management Courses at Langara College, and been featured in the National Post, BC Business Magazine and Canadian HR Reporter for progressive work in the human resources field.
