What are the benefits of coaching?

Executive Coaching is viewed as an increasingly credible leadership development activity for those entrusted with running not-for-profit organizations and a tool for improving organizational results”.¹  Recent studies on not-for-profit leadership indicate coaching can more fully engage not-for-profit leadership teams in achieving their goals.²

Coaching is a collaborative relationship that fosters self-awareness and builds on individual strengths to achieve meaningful and measurable outcomes that are aligned with the organization’s goals. Coaches support their clients through focused conversations to change their thinking and behaviour to improve their performance. To be successful, clients must have a specific goal they want to achieve with the support of a coach. Some clients want to acquire new skills or enhance leadership competencies, while others might have an organizational challenge to overcome. The majority of coaching clients report that the benefits of coaching are improvements in relationships, teamwork, job satisfaction and productivity in addition to achievement of specific objectives.

Who are the Coaches?

Vantage Point and the ICF, Vancouver Chapter, have selected professionally trained, experienced coaches. The coaches are members of the ICF, are certified as professional coaches and have at least 5 years of experience in volunteering or working with not-for-profit organizations.
