Community Engagement Coordinator
Julia Mauro is a connector and convener. She has a strong belief in volunteerism and sees it as a positive way to build community. Julia grew up in Vancouver and completed the Bachelor of Performing Arts Cohort Program at Capilano University as well as additional training through the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity and the Douglas College Theatre Department. Her main passions lie in bridging differences through the arts and using art as a safe avenue to express individual values. Julia has worked for some of Vancouver’s largest arts organisations including the Vancouver Film Festival, Vancouver Fringe Festival, and the Arts Club Theatre Company. She is a board member of the Jessie Richardson Theatre Award Society and helped to create the Society's first Diversity & Inclusion statement. Julia has built a strong knowledge base in how to get involved in a way that is personally meaningful. Outside the office, dance and movement are a core part of Julia’s weekly routine. Even with her busy schedule, she finds the time to hang out with her two adorable cats.
