In recognition of National Aboriginal History Month we wanted to take a moment to reflect on our reconciliation journey to date. Vantage Point recently established a Reconciliation Task Force with the goal to guide and support our efforts in reconciliation.
This month we venture into the Millennial “spotlight” with David Puterman, a seasoned leader, planner, and advocate for a variety of social change initiatives and programs. David has conducted research on the engagement of young adults in charitable and not-for-profit organizations. He provides some great insights such as how to bring young staff, volunteers and donors into your succession planning.
Not-for-profit organizations provide essential services in very complex environments and therefore require high performing staff and boards to achieve meaningful and measurable results. We need a range of core competencies to improve organizational performance – strong leaders with a strategic outlook; boards that govern wisely; and staff that are motivated and encouraged to make a career in the sector.
