The role boards and employees play in not-for-profit financial management is not always fully understood or appreciated.

This half-day session will introduce you to a wide variety of financial management strategies and discuss ways to implement financial management tools effectively.

You will walk away with a practical perspective as to what board should do and understand the different roles the board and the executive director (or employees) have with respect to proper financial management.

While working as a Chartered Accountant in small, mid-sized and “Big 4” CA firms, Gordon got an insider’s look at how bookkeeping and accounting impacts Not-for-profit Organizations and Charities. He also spent 10 years as Executive Director/COO of two mid-sized law firms in Vancouver, focusing on how to build the capacity, sustainability and profitability of those firms. Now, as a business owner, Gordon can focus on the work he enjoys the most, like connecting with Board members and Executive Directors and helping them build capacity for financial management and accountability. Gordon is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA), a Certified Professional Bookkeeper (CPB), a member of the National Association of Nonprofit Accountants and Consultants and the RanOne Accountants Network.
