Helping create community is at the centre of Vicki’s work. Her investment in the sector, passion for education, and enthusiasm for leadership drew her to Vantage Point. In her role as Education Events Coordinator Vicki gets to pair her experience using events to foster community-building with her enjoyment for hands-on work that requires in the moment problem-solving. Vicki grew up in what she would describe as “Everytown BC,” as she lived in a number of communities in BC before spending the last thirteen years in the Lower Mainland. The team is happy to have another book nerd amongst its ranks, as Vicki completed her Masters in English Literature at the University of Victoria. She also brings to the team over a decade of work experience in the not-for-profit sector and contributes to an array of organizations as a volunteer. Vicki is currently acting as a youth mentor for Check Your Head, a Human Book for the human library with PuSh Festival, and community organizer for HiVE. Vicki’s collaborative leadership style and interrogative mind lead her to challenge the status quo and make her an innovator on the team.
